About Department: 

The Department Physical Education & Sports of the college was founded in 1996 with the inception of the college. It  is spread in 16 acres sprawling own land of the society surrounded by greenery and in noiseless and pollution-free environment  along Jalalkheda- Mowad State Highway at Devgram in Nagpur district of Maharashtra. It has-

  • a building having 300 Sq. m. built up area
  • 200 mts track.
  • Play grounds for Khokho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball, Football, Hockey, Malla-khamb, Rope-Malla Khamb and Cricket.
  • Indoor Halls for Table Tennis (Wooden)
  • Courts for Basketball and Tennis.
  • International standard Badminton courts
  • Flood lit Volley ball Court

  • Open Air Yoga Centre A multipurpose hall for gymnasium.

During 1970’s, Dr. Bhausaheb Bhoge, Founder of the society registered and established Sarvodaya Krida Mandal, an authorized platform to unite and promote scattered Indian sports in rural area so that the youth would gain physical fitness and excel in sports through sports culture. In those days, he organized various sports activities like Akhada, Kabaddi to promote Indian Sports at state and national level with the help of village youth and the community. That, too some extent helped to build a strong society. In the course of time, he realized that unless rural youngsters get good exposure in sports activities with all modern facilities, they cannot become name and fame. Their intension was to support the Antyoday students in the community. Hence they formed Antyoday Sports Academy and aliened it with the Department of Physical Education & Sports of the college. Since then the sports activities got new momentum and coinage. Now every year the students of the college participate in sports activities in different games bringing laurels at state and national level. Thus, the small club founded by Dr. Bhausaheb Bhoge five decades ago has now grown up to be recognized as the best sports hub in the region. The department takes pride that the students passed out from this department are now serving in various ambit of the society for the cause of nation.

Mission

With children and youth as its targets, the Department has focused its endeavours towards improving their physical, mental, moral, academic and social development so as to mould their all-round personality based on integrity of character and benevolence and make them capable of meeting the challenges of the new era.

Vision

Since its inception, the department has focused on developing an ideal system of physical culture by integrating and assimilating positive elements of various cultures including India’s traditional systems. The blend thus evolved should avoid the negative effects of commercial and competitive sports.

Aims and Objectives

The aims and objects for which the department is formed and established are :

  1. To inculcate love for Physical culture among the citizens specially the youths of the country, irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
  2. To adopt ways and means to systematize and popularize the Traditional Indian System of Physical Culture.
  3. To undertake Research work in Health, Nutrition, Physical Education and Recreation.
  4. To study and adopt Physical Culture activities of other countries as well, and introduce the same, as and when, necessary and suitable for the development of Indian Citizens.

Goals

  • To standardize and popularize India’s traditional system of physical culture and blend it properly with Western concepts of physical education and systems.
  • To promote health and fitness of the masses.
  • To develop sports and allied sciences and employ them strategically towards welfare and wellbeing of the masses.
  • To promote excellence in education at all levels of human development.
  • To identify, nurture and develop talents of budding sports women and men without gender discrimination.
